iv.

Move forward

Whether it is a filing, a closing, a probate, or a divorce decree, you know where things stand, always.

§ 04 — Good questions

Frequently asked.

A few of the questions we hear most often before a first meeting.
Do you offer consultations before I decide to hire you?

Yes. An initial consultation lets us understand your situation and gives you room to decide if we are the right office for the matter. Call (845) 497-7265 or use the contact form to arrange one.

What areas do you serve?

We are based at 90 East Main Street in Washingtonville and represent clients across Orange County, the lower Hudson Valley, and New York and New Jersey broadly. Virtual consultations are available when travel is difficult.

Do you take cases in Spanish or French?

Absolutely. Ms. Tompkins is fluent in English, Spanish, and French. Clients and families are welcome to speak with us in the language they are most comfortable in.

How are fees handled?

Fees vary by matter — some work is flat-fee (simple wills, LLC formations), some is billed hourly, and some requires a retainer. We explain the structure in writing before any work begins, so there are no surprises.

I have never met with an attorney before. What should I bring?

Bring whatever documents feel relevant — prior orders, contracts, letters, emails, bills, deeds — and a list of the questions on your mind. If you are not sure what to bring, just come; we will work from there.
